Job description

We are currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Stamford, CT. You will work closely with project managers, superintendents, project engineers, subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and clients to help ensure the project is delivered with the level of excellence, professionalism, and care that Dimeo is known for.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager with day-to-day project operations, including schedule, financials, safety, quality, diversity, and overall project goals.
  • Help coordinate and communicate with project team members, including Project Engineers and Assistant Project Engineers, to support strong team performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with project budget tracking, cost reporting, projections, allowances, contingencies, options, labor cost coding, and monthly requisitions for owners and subcontractors.
  • Support the preparation, review, and administration of subcontractor scope outlines, agreements, and related project documentation.
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, architects, and engineers to help resolve issues and keep work moving forward.
  • Assist with material management, delivery tracking, submittal compliance, and documentation that supports the project schedule.
  • Participate in scope review meetings, subcontractor meetings, foremen meetings, and project coordination discussions; prepare and distribute accurate meeting minutes as needed.
  • Help verify existing project conditions and incorporate findings into schedule, logistics, scope, and planning efforts.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and accountability of project reporting tools, including the Operations Report.
  • Assist in the execution of Dimeo's Quality Management Program and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program.

How You'll Work

At Dimeo, project success depends on an integrated team approach. The Superintendent leads key field priorities such as schedule, quality, safety, and logistics, while the Project Manager leads financial management, technical resolution, and project administration. The Assistant Project Manager helps connect these efforts by supporting communication, organization, follow-through, and alignment across the team.

You will be expected to bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset; communicate clearly and professionally; and approach each interaction as if you are working directly with a client. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys learning, taking ownership, building strong relationships, and contributing to a team that takes pride in doing the right thing.

What We're Looking For

  • Knowledge of construction management, engineering, and related construction activities, terminology, and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, and project documents to support planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, architects, and engineers.
  • Ability to support cost management, schedule coordination, documentation, meeting preparation, and issue resolution.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
