Job description

XLA is looking for a Project Assistant I to support a federal agency in Arlington, VA. This is an onsite position Monday-Friday. 

Salary: $55,000

Duties:

  • The contractor shall provide support as a point of contact for the Passport & Visa Program.
  • Answers and interview incoming callers to determine the appropriate action to be taken.
  • Independently completes special research request. Exchanges and develops information.
  • Resolves discrepancies and makes recommendations about conflicting program-related materials.
  • Collects program information from technical specialists, enters it into a variety of electronic information systems, searches for related information, and retrieves all relevant data.
  • Consolidates the information into presentation format. Sort incoming mail and forwards to appropriate Specialist.
  • Meet with the daily courier to sign and pickup passports delivered to the DEA HQS facility.
  • Conducts regular interactions with colleagues in order to complete work assignments.
  • Assignments are varied in nature yet limited in complexity. Perform other clerical and program support duties as assigned.

General Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • The position requires practical knowledge of standard procedures in an administrative or technical field.
  • Possess skills and diplomacy in dealing with a wide range of callers.
  • Skills in listening with the ability to effectively articulate detailed information to the appropriate specialists in a logical and clear manner.
  • Ability to organize material into a written format for effective presentation.
  • Knowledge of database applications and the ability to easily learn new data bases to input/retrieve data.
