Assistant Project Manager

Your Impact
As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll play a crucial role in supporting large-scale data center construction projects-coordinating workflows, ensuring quality, and enabling on-time, on-budget delivery. Your support helps ensure operational excellence and exceptional client experience across all project phases.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Shadow experienced Project Managers to learn project workflows, communication protocols, and stakeholder interactions.
  • Participate in training programs to build knowledge of data center infrastructure and operations.
  • Learn processes and begin managing scope over portions of projects, including understanding quality and standards.
  • Assist with coordinating internal and external resources to ensure work remains within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Gather required project documentation.
  • Support quality control processes, including inspections.
  • Assist with client-facing interactions.
  • Support cost control functions.
  • Maintain and update construction schedules.
  • Lead and coordinate project meetings.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports.
  • Serve as a key owner/client interface.
  • Assist with bid package development.
  • Support change order negotiations.
  • Promote and practice safety management.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier contract administration.
  • Support owner contract administration.
  • Manage RFI tracking and resolution.
  • Track trade progress and installation activities.
  • Manage submittal workflows.
  • Set up and maintain projects in the PMIS.
  • Support BIM model coordination.
  • Manage closeout processes.

Experience
  • Experience with Data Center Operations (Infrastructure, Low Voltage, or Electrical)
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting construction projects

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Knowledge of construction project controls, cost tracking, scheduling, and change management.
  • Experience with subcontractor and supplier contract administration.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contracts.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, and project documentation in a PMIS.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Commitment to safety management practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; construction software and BIM experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Willing to travel up to 20%.

Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Data Center build outs (Infrastructure, Low Voltage, or Electrical)
  • High school diploma or GED required.
