Job description

As a Project Architect II, you will lead technical design development and documentation for complex architectural projects while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. You will translate client needs and design intent into coordinated models, drawings, and specifications that reflect Progressive Companies' Performance-Based Design approach. In this role, you will also help mentor emerging professionals and ensure projects meet the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and compliance.
Deliver Results
  • Develop architectural models, construction documents, and specifications for small-to-moderate complexity projects while integrating applicable building codes, sustainability strategies, and material standards.
  • Coordinate architectural drawings and project specifications to ensure consistency, constructability, and seamless integration across disciplines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and engineers to resolve design challenges and maintain alignment with project scope, schedule, and design intent.
  • Review submittals, drawings, estimates, and technical documentation to verify accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Resolve technical issues during construction administration, including site visits, documentation discrepancies, and code compliance challenges.
  • Apply proficiency in tools such as Revit and AutoCAD to produce accurate, coordinated documentation and maintain organized project files and submissions.
  • Mentor junior team members by sharing technical expertise and supporting professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Architectural licensure (RA) preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Typically 6-10+ years of professional architectural experience with increasing responsibility in project documentation and technical design.
  • Strong experience producing construction documents and coordinating technical design for architectural projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; experience with additional design and documentation tools is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of building codes, construction detailing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams including consultants and engineers.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior staff is preferred.
