We are seeking an experienced Project Administrator II to support the successful delivery of complex transportation and infrastructure construction projects. In this role, you will serve as a key member of the construction management team, coordinating field operations, tracking project progress, managing contract documentation, and ensuring accurate reporting of construction activities.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of heavy civil construction projects, including construction scheduling, progress tracking, quantity verification, change management, contractor coordination, and project controls. This position requires the ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and collaborate effectively with project stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and moving toward successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate inspection staff, administrative personnel, and subconsultants to support the successful delivery of complex transportation and infrastructure construction projects.
  • Manage construction contract administration activities, including progress payments, quantity tracking, project documentation, recordkeeping, and project closeout.
  • Monitor project progress and construction schedules, identify risks and delays, and support resolution of issues impacting project delivery.
  • Support project controls and change management processes through progress measurement, cost documentation, schedule tracking, and administration of contract modifications and change orders.
  • Oversee construction documentation, inspection reports, field testing records, and compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Serve as a key liaison among contractors, utility companies, regulatory agencies, and clients to facilitate communication, resolve project issues, and maintain project momentum.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in project administration, construction management, or construction engineering.
  • Experience supporting major roadway, bridge, or heavy civil infrastructure construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling, contractor coordination, project documentation, and contract administration.
  • Experience tracking construction quantities, progress payments, and project documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Ability to analyze challenges, make sound decisions, and resolve complex project issues in a professional manner.

Preferred

  • Experience with project controls, schedule analysis, earned progress tracking, or cost monitoring on construction projects.
  • Experience reviewing and administering change orders, contract modifications, and claims-related documentation.
  • Familiarity with DOT or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of Sharepoint and Bluebeam software
