Job description

Overview

Are you an accountant who takes pride in getting the details right-and eager to build your career on a collaborative, mission-driven team?

We're looking for a Staff Accountant to join us at Dynamic Catholic.  This isn't just a transactional role; it is a full-charge accounting position where you'll own core financial functions-from vendor payables and fixed assets to inventory accounting and prepaid expenses.  You will also play a key hands-on role in multi-state sales tax compliance, month-end closing and our annual financial audits. You'll collaborate across departments, help refine our processes, and ensure that every dollar is accounted for with precision and purpose.

If you're seeking a role with clear outcomes, technical depth, and room to grow, we think you'll thrive here.  Our team is collaborative, committed, and driven by the belief that great work-done with humility and purpose-can change lives.

Who we are

At Dynamic Catholic our Mission is simple:  to re-energize the Catholic Church in America. Catholics are leaving the Church at an alarming rate, and disengagement among those who remain is staggeringly high. This is where you come in. We are looking for driven, talented, and dynamic individuals who will work tirelessly to use their talents to inspire people to rediscover the genius of Catholicism.

We Have

  • Opportunity & Growth: Your potential for impact is limitless when you excel, with broad exposure across operations, GAAP compliance, and financial analysis.

  • Meaning & Purpose:  Meaningful and challenging work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.

  • Clear Outcomes:  You'll have a clear understanding of your standing on the team and the targets to set you apart.

  • Teamwork:  A lean team committed to whatever it takes to get the job done, supporting one another and collaborating along the way.

  • Best Practices: We celebrate wins, document successful strategies and continuously refine our processes to elevate performance.

You Have

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting and prior experience in accounting in a professional setting.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with the ability to dive into detailed data and resolve complex issues.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively internally and externally.

  • Adaptability: Deep appreciation for a balance in your role between recurring/cyclical work and the challenge of meeting changing priorities and initiatives.

  • Tech Proficiency: Solid proficiency in accounting software/ERPs and Microsoft Excel.

  • Passion for the Mission:  A servant-leader mindset; you naturally go above and beyond to ensure that the job gets done right.

  • Continuous Improvement:  Genuine desire to receive feedback and improve; hunger for best practices and willingness to effectively incorporate them into long-term solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Spend Management: Own the end-to-end vendor bill pay process, monthly employee credit card expense reporting, and 1099/W-9 vendor compliance.

  • Asset & Revenue Accounting: Manage key financial accounting requirements such as fixed assets and depreciation, support monthly inventory variance analysis with Operations Team, and handle GAAP pledge and unearned revenue accounting entries.

  • Financial Reconciliations & Compliance: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, manage multi-state sales tax reporting, and assist with month-end closing entries.

  • Projects & Cross-Functional Support: Prepare supporting workpapers for external auditors; collaborate on special financial analysis projects, process improvement and other mission-critical initiatives with the Controller and team members.
