Registered Nurse – PCU
Our client, a healthcare company, is looking for a Registered Nurse – PCU for their Augusta, GA location.
Responsibilities:
- Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac
- External CPAP/BIPAP
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Nasal Cannula
- Non-invasive airway management
- Oxygen administration
- Tracheostomy care/management
- Neurological/Psychiatric
- CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident)
- Pre/Post neurosurgery
- Traumatic Brain injury
- Gastrointestinal
- Feeding tube care and management
- Medications
- Heparin Protocols
- Manage Cardiac drips- no titration
- Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration*
- Titrate Cardiac drips
- Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Telemetry -on the unit monitoring
- Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Professional Topics and Skills
- Isolation Precautions
- Endocrine/Metabolic
- Titration of Insulin drips
Requirements:
- Minimum Experience: 1 year; 1st Timers are accepted
- Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIH
- General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: No Block Scheduling; mixed MS/Tele and Intermediate patients, neuro (small population), respiratory, cardiac, mixed medical, titrating cardiac drips required and tele required; assignments could be all PCU, all MS/Tele, or a mix of PCU and MS/Tele depending on the acuity of the patients and staffing
- Ratio / Census: Ratio: 1:4-5; Please note this unit has a high staffing ratio
- Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
