Job description


Quantity Tracking / Field Progress Specialist
Support an ongoing site-based construction assignment in Corpus Christi, TX, with future projects requiring on-site presence across the U.S. You'll work closely with the TIC Cost Control Specialist Engineer, Cost Control Specialist, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and field supervision to accurately track and report construction quantities and physical progress throughout the project lifecycle - supporting cost forecasting, contractor pay applications, and overall project performance.
Responsibilities:
  • Track and maintain installed quantities and physical construction progress across assigned work scopes
  • Collect daily and weekly quantity information from contractors, subcontractors, and field teams
  • Verify reported quantities against actual field conditions and construction documentation
  • Compare planned vs. actual progress and identify variances
  • Maintain quantity tracking logs, spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools
  • Monitor progress by discipline, area, work package, contractor, and/or activity
  • Review contractor progress reports and supporting documentation for accuracy
  • Perform field walks to validate reported quantities and percentage complete
  • Coordinate with field engineers, superintendents, foremen, and contractors to obtain accurate progress data
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies between reported and actual work completed
  • Support weekly and monthly physical progress reporting
  • Provide verified quantity/progress data to support cost forecasting and pay application review
  • Assist in validating contractor billings against verified field information
  • Maintain documentation supporting reported quantities and progress measurements
  • Track changes in scope that affect quantities or progress
  • Support reconciliation of contractor-reported quantities, field measurements, and project records
  • Communicate delays, productivity concerns, and discrepancies to the project team
  • Participate in project progress meetings and provide field status updates

Required:
  • High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, or related field preferred
  • 3-7 years of experience in construction, field engineering, quantity tracking, progress measurement, or project controls
  • Hands-on experience tracking construction quantities and physical progress
  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contractor documentation
  • Experience working directly with contractors, subcontractors, and field supervision
  • Strong understanding of construction activities and progress measurement/reporting
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a field/site-based construction environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel to future project assignments across the U.S.

Preferred:
  • Experience on industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, petrochemical, or infrastructure construction projects
  • Experience tracking quantities in disciplines such as piping, mechanical, structural steel, concrete, electrical, instrumentation, equipment installation, or civil/site work
  • Experience with progress measurement systems or project controls software (Procore, Oracle, EcoSys, Unifier)
  • Experience supporting contractor pay application verification
  • Familiarity with WBS, work packages, cost codes, and progress measurement methodologies
  • Experience with earned value or physical progress measurement
  • Experience on EPC or large capital projects
