Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California's most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans' services, and health care sectors.

Program Summary

The Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP) is a supportive housing rental subsidy program of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). It includes multiple sub-programs, all working towards the goal of securing quality housing for extremely vulnerable Angelenos. Our funders include County departments, other governmental partners, managed-care organizations, and foundations. As the central coordinating community-based partner for FHSP, Brilliant Corners secures a broad range of housing options Countywide, provides move-in assistance and rental subsidy disbursements, provides support with tenancy matters and coordinates with participant assigned case managers. Position Summary

Brilliant Corners' Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP) is looking for a Program Associate to provide support to the FHSP leadership and the program at large. The Program Associate will provide critical administrative support to leverage their ability to advance the FHSP Program's mission and vision. Ideal candidates will bring experience providing program-level support to higher level leadership in a fast-paced organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Draft and prepare correspondence, memos, and program communications on behalf of leadership as needed.
  • Calendar & Scheduling Management: Manage leadership calendars, including scheduling, logistics, and coordination of internal and external commitments.
  • Meeting Coordination & Support: Lead meeting preparation by scheduling, coordinating logistics, and assembling and distributing materials; document meetings, track action items, and support timely follow-up and execution of next steps.
  • Program Operations: Order supplies and manage program inventory, including Narcan and inspection-related materials.
  • Travel Coordination: Oversee all aspects of travel planning, including logistics, registrations, and expense management.
  • Financial Administration: Process vendor invoices and complete credit card reconciliations for Department Directors.
  • Compliance & Tracking: Track program activities, milestones, and training certifications to support FHSP compliance requirements.
  • Communications & Stakeholder Engagement: Support external communications, including responding to program inquiries and coordinating with vendors and funders.
  • Legal Support: Maintain tracking of grievance and legal cases, manage documentation, and support communication and follow-up.
  • Special Projects: Perform special projects and duties as assigned to support departmental and program needs.

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Experience in providing administrative support to leadership positions or programs
  • Knowledge of or experience in non-profit human services. Experience with homeless, veteran and/or developmentally-disabled populations a plus.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently and simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day.  Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.

Labor Union

This position is part of the OPEIU, LOCAL 30, AFL-CIO, bargaining unit. As a member of the OPEIU, LOCAL 30, AFL-CIO, the incumbent will be subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Salary range for this position is $27.88 - $29.81 per hour. This position is being offered at $27.88 per hour.
