Job description

About Lashbrook
Lashbrook is a leader in the design and manufacturing of premium custom wedding rings. Every ring we produce is built to order using advanced manufacturing technologies, precision machining, automation, and proprietary manufacturing processes. Our products are sold through hundreds of independent jewelry retailers across North America and internationally.
Our engineering team continually develops new manufacturing methods, improves production efficiency, designs specialized tooling, and integrates automation to maintain our position as an innovation leader.
Position Overview
Lashbrook is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our engineering team. This is not a typical internship focused on observation-you will contribute to meaningful engineering projects that directly impact our manufacturing operations.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers while taking ownership of projects that require creativity, initiative, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate enjoys learning independently, takes pride in finding practical solutions, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Work On:
Mechanical tool and fixture design
CAD modeling and engineering drawings
Machine optimization and process improvement
Manufacturing automation projects
Design and testing of production equipment
Documentation of engineering processes and procedures
Continuous improvement initiatives
Prototype development and testing
Other engineering projects as business needs evolve
Because we're a relatively small engineering team, every day is different. You'll gain exposure to a broad range of engineering disciplines rarely available in larger organizations.
Qualifications:
We're looking for candidates who:
Are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or have graduated within the past year
Have completed at least one college-level CAD (Computer-Aided Design) course
Possess strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Are comfortable learning new software and manufacturing technologies
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
SolidWorks or similar CAD software
CNC machining or manufacturing processes
3D printing
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement
Automation or robotics
Basic machining or fabrication experience
What Makes This Internship Different
Unlike many internships where students spend most of their time observing, you'll be trusted with projects that matter. You'll have the opportunity to design solutions that are actually implemented, work directly with production personnel and engineers, learn advanced manufacturing techniques, gain experience with automation and precision machining, build a portfolio of real engineering accomplishments, and see your ideas improve manufacturing efficiency.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly pay $20-$40/hr BOE
Flexible scheduling around school commitments (if applicable)
Hands-on engineering experience
Mentorship from experienced engineers
Opportunity for future full-time employment based on performance
At Lashbrook we adhere to the following Core Values:
We are Passionate about Leading
We are Purpose Driven
We are Teachable and Knowledgeable
We are Kind and Considerate
TYPE: Part or Full-time
Pay: $20-$40/hr BOE
