JOB SUMMARY

Are you ready to gain hands-on engineering experience with a growing company making a difference in the industrial water treatment industry? Apex is looking for a driven and curious Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer months to support our engineering projects and build valuable professional skills. The Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of the Company?s custom water and process solutions while participating in technical documentation standardization and organization, hands-on engineering work, and cross-departmental collaboration, providing a comprehensive understanding of our operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with team members to review, organize, and standardize technical documentation related to the Company?s systems and processes, including design system documentation and operation maintenance manual documentation
  • Update Company?s pricing information in appropriate databases
  • Assist with the creation of standard parts lists and identifying use cases for certain ones, noting viable alternatives as options
  • Create spare parts documents and populate them into reports
  • Assist with identifying areas for process improvement within engineering and documentation workflows with the goals of increasing efficiency and enhancing documentation accuracy and accessibility
  • Create specification sheets which sales team members can utilize when meeting with prospective and current customers
  • Collect design standards for certain tooling/equipment offerings to aid future projects
  • Update historical projects file in Excel on an ongoing basis
  • Provide overall project support for the team, following up with vendors on the details of projects
  • Participate as an active team member and take advantage of learning opportunities to enhance technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional growth
  • Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor?s degree in Engineering; must have completed junior year at the start of the internship
  • Self-motivated with a drive to take initiative to identify opportunities and suggest solutions
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk and work on a computer
  • Willingness to cross-train as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor?s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
