The Opportunity

The BIM Project Engineer - Coordination is responsible for overseeing the development and integration of Building Information Models (BIM) for construction projects. This role ensures the effective coordination of all project stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration to optimize the design, construction, and operation phases. The BIM Project Engineer plays a critical role in managing digital construction data, ensuring model integrity, and enhancing project efficiency.

What you will do?

  • Develop, manage, and update BIM models to support project design, construction, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure model accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues using BIM software.
  • Facilitate regular coordination meetings with project teams to review model progress, identify issues, and develop solutions.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and training to project teams on BIM processes and tools.
  • Perform quality control checks on BIM models to ensure compliance with project standards and requirements.
  • Implement and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and best practices.
  • Conduct model audits and provide feedback to project teams for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to BIM models, including model progress reports, clash detection reports, and coordination meeting minutes.
  • Generate 2D drawings and other deliverables from BIM models as required.
  • Maintain an organized digital filing system for project models and related documentation.
  • Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and software developments.
  • Evaluate and recommend new BIM tools and workflows to enhance project efficiency and quality.
  • Implement and manage BIM execution plans (BEP) for projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in BIM coordination and management in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building systems, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) is a plus.
