Position Summary:
Sea Colony is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Pickleball Professional to join our racquets team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world class racquet sports program, work with a supportive leadership team, and help shape one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. You will deliver the ultimate pickleball experience by providing the highest quality instruction and customer service. This candidate will teach various pickleball programs to include adult and junior programs, lessons, special events and clinics.
Essential Duties:
  • Assist in delivering engaging and instructional pickleball programming for players of all ages and skill levels.
  • Lead group clinics, beginner lessons, drill sessions, and social round robins.
  • Provide private and semi-private lessons as requested.
  • Help organize and execute pickleball events, leagues, and tournaments.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and professional court culture aligned with community values.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards on all pickleball courts and facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Racquets to grow participation and elevate the member experience.
  • Assist with junior pickleball camps as needed.
  • Quickly and efficiently responds to members/homeowners/guest questions, comments, and concerns in a professional, tactful manner.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:
  • Passion for pickleball and strong playing ability (4.0+ level preferred).
  • Prior experience teaching or coaching pickleball, tennis, or similar racquet sports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and team oriented.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on programming needs.
  • Certification through PPR or RSPA is a plus but not required.
  • CPR/AED certification preferred (can be obtained after hiring).

Pay Rate:
$15.00 + Commission
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
  • Occasionally sits.
  • Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Indoor court environment as well. Noise level is moderate.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the staff may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment used are in English).
  • Skill level equivalent to a minimum 4.0 DUPR rating.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic computer and email skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, friendly, outgoing, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with members and team members.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and learn quickly.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the game of pickleball.

Shift: Primarily working day and evening hours during the week. Some weekend hours may be necessary for special events and camps.
