Position Overview:  

As a Programmer Analyst at BWXT, you’ll play a key role in applying technology to solve business challenges and elevate customer experience. You’ll develop and maintain software applications using Microsoft technologies, helping drive innovation and operational efficiency across the organization.

You’ll be a core member of a collaborative development team, working closely with technical peers and business stakeholders to build reliable, scalable applications.

Your Day to Day as a Programmer Analyst

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance across a variety of systems.
• Read, write, and refine SQL queries.
• Collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established best practices.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications, ensuring long-term reliability and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on .NET development experience.
• Experience with .NET, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, and API-based integrations.
• Basic to intermediate experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Azure TFVC or Git.
• Strong knowledge of C# and the .NET Framework/.NET Core ecosystem.
• Solid understanding of SQL Server and database design principles.
• Strong foundation in Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DOE clearance.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Experience with Entity Framework/LINQ.
• Experience with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation).
• Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy applications.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

Pay: $64,000 - $90,000

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000 and $90,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
