Title: Temporary - Student Life Associate

POSITION SUMMARY
To support the Office of Student Life and the Division of Student Affairs by helping create a welcoming student experience, supporting student life program offerings and creating spaces for student involvement at Nashville State Community College.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates student photo IDs, manages and orders photo ID supplies and troubleshoots photo ID technology as needed. Greets and directs students in person and over the phone. Manages inventory of office materials.
Monitors the department email inbox, answering questions and forwarding messages as necessary. Maintains an organized and welcoming environment for students inside the Student Life suite. Supports Director of Student Life in College programming initiatives and takes ownership of programs when appropriate. Assists with a variety of special projects and reports, including supporting other offices and campus-wide events.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or educational equivalent

Ability to work a minimum of 12 hours per week

Ability to work some evenings and weekends, particularly at the beginning of academic terms and at other times to support student enrollment and department events

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree

Experience in an office environment

Experience working in a higher education setting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Skilled in effectively maintaining and managing records and data. Ability to work in a highly collaborative team setting. Detail oriented.
