Summary
MS Technology, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician / Specialist to support a short-term project involving quality documentation review, data analysis, and compliance verification. This role will focus on reviewing inspection records, identifying documentation gaps, validating technical information, and ensuring compliance with applicable structural and welding codes.
The ideal candidate will have experience in quality control, weld inspection, structural engineering, or technical documentation and be comfortable working with large volumes of engineering and inspection records.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze technical data and prepare summaries and reports.
  • Perform data forensics by identifying missing or incomplete information within inspection records and related project documentation.
  • Investigate relationships between technical documents to ensure complete and traceable documentation.
  • Review and cross-reference procedures, inspection records, and technical documentation against applicable codes and project requirements.
  • Verify compliance with applicable industry standards and document any discrepancies or nonconformances.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by maintaining organized records and ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project personnel to resolve documentation issues and obtain missing information.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience working with engineering, construction, quality control, or inspection documentation.
  • Ability to analyze technical information and identify inconsistencies or missing data.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with weld inspection documentation or structural steel quality control.
  • Familiarity with structural engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including:
    • IBC 2018
    • AISC 360-16
    • AISC 341-16
  • Experience performing documentation audits or quality record reviews.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or similar quality certification is a plus but not required.

  • This is a temporary assignment expected to last approximately 3 to 6 months.
  • There is little or no anticipated opportunity for extension or permanent employment.
  • This position is ideal for candidates with quality control, weld inspection, structural engineering, or technical data management experience who enjoy working with engineering documentation and ensuring accuracy and compliance
