Job description

Accurate Metal Machining, Inc. (AMMI) is a precision machining company headquartered in Painesville, Ohio, serving aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. As a HEICO company, we bring the stability of a global organization together with a close-knit team culture built on craftsmanship and precision. If you take pride in writing programs that run right the first time, you'll fit in here. The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for a range of machining operations including multi-axis mills and lathes. Working closely with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel, this role directly impacts part quality, cycle time, and shop efficiency. ESPRIT CAM proficiency is a plus, this is a hands-on programming role for someone who knows their way around the shop floor as well as the screen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and optimize CNC programs using ESPRIT CAM software

• Program 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes

• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models to develop accurate machining strategies

• Develop setup sheets, tooling lists, and process documentation

• Troubleshoot programming and machining issues on the shop floor

• Optimize cycle times while maintaining part quality and tool life

• Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement

Required:

• 3+ years of CNC programming experience

• Experience programming CNC mills, lathes, or mill-turn machines

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T

• Solid knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes

• Familiarity with Fanuc, Nakamura, Okuma, or similar CNC controls

Preferred:

• 5-axis programming experience

• Strong proficiency with ESPRIT CAM software is a plus

• Background in aerospace, defense, or precision machining

• Experience with CAD software and solid models (SolidWorks, STEP, IGES, etc.)

• Experience with automation or multi-tasking machines

• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
