Job Summary:
Seeking a Senior NC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC machining programs for complex aerospace components using multi-axis machining systems. The role involves creating machine control data, tooling strategies, setup documentation, and supporting production operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, verify, and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), tooling geometry, and setup documentation for 5-axis CNC machines.
  • Develop NC programs for aluminum and hard-metal aerospace components based on engineering drawings and manufacturing requirements.
  • Create machining setups and operational strategies ensuring tooling, fixturing, and machine selection support tolerances and producibility.
  • Generate setup sheets and operator instructions for safe and efficient machining operations.
  • Use simulation and verification tools such as Vericut to validate NC programs and eliminate collisions.
  • Troubleshoot and refine programs using first-article inspections, in-process feedback, and shop-floor testing results.
  • Coordinate with planning, manufacturing engineering, tooling, and machine operators to improve cycle times and reduce scrap.
  • Lead development of custom fixtures, tooling arrangements, and machining strategies across multiple operations and machines.
  • Maintain program documentation, revision control, and configuration management requirements.
  • Work independently under minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of NC programming experience in production machining
  • Experience programming 5-axis CNC machines for aerospace parts
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation
  • Proficiency with CATIA V5 NC programming
  • Experience using Vericut or similar NC simulation tools
  • Ability to create detailed setup documentation and operator instructions
  • Ability to work 2nd shift schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing custom fixtures and tooling for complex machining operations
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and first-article inspection requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills
  • Experience with additional CAM systems and post-processors
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree with 6+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience such as Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of related experience or 8+ years of industry experience.
