Job description

Job Title: CNC Programmer

Location: Pathfinder Manufacturing

Job Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Department: CNC

Reports To: Manager of Operations

JOB SUMMARY:

Pathfinder Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming HAAS CNC machines using CATIA, Mastercam, and other CAM software. This position plays a critical role in developing and optimizing CNC programs for complex components in aerospace and precision manufacturing, ensuring both accuracy and efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and 3D models.

·         Create and modify CNC programs using CATIA, Mastercam, and other CAM software for vertical, horizontal, and multi-axis machining centers.

·         Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and machining strategies based on material and design specifications.

·         Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and correct potential collisions or errors before production.

·         Perform test runs and first-article inspections to validate program accuracy and part conformance.

·         Troubleshoot and resolve issues in programming and machining processes (3-axis, 4-axis mills, and lathes).

·         Support machine setup and prove-out activities on the shop floor.

·         Collaborate with machinists, planners, and quality control to improve workflows and reduce cycle times.

·         Maintain organized documentation of programs, revisions, and setup instructions.

·         Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in CNC programming or machining preferred.

·         Minimum 2–5 years of CNC programming experience, preferably on HAAS machines.

·         Proficiency in CATIA for 3D modeling and NC programming.

·         Experience with Mastercam and other CAM/post-processing software.

·         Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, and HAAS controllers.

·         Ability to interpret engineering drawings and detailed dimensional data.

·         Understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.

·         Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

·         U.S. Person status required due to export control regulations.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

·         Experience with DNC systems and CNC program management tools.

·         Familiarity with post-processing, simulation, and verification tools.

·         Background in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing industries.

·         Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and shop safety practices.
