ABOUT THE ROLE
The Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers to design, develop, and deliver high-quality precast concrete structures while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role oversees technical execution, project performance, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, efficient, and timely project outcomes. The Engineering Manager also fosters a strong team culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement, reporting to the Vice President of Drafting & Engineering.
Salary range $116,000- $150,000/Year. Based on location and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and/or supervisors, including performance management and development
  • Establish clear expectations, provide feedback, and support a collaborative team environment
  • Oversee project design teams to ensure milestones, quality standards, and deliverables are met
  • Review and approve engineering calculations and drawings for accuracy and compliance
  • Interpret architectural and structural plans to ensure structural integrity and feasibility
  • Identify project risks and implement effective solutions to maintain schedules and quality
  • Collaborate with internal departments to optimize design, production, and customer outcomes
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and owners as needed
  • Provide engineering support to sales for prospective projects
  • Address project issues, including errors or design challenges, with timely and effective resolutions
  • Support manufacturing and production teams with engineering input and facility needs
  • Conduct site visits to manufacturing facilities and construction sites as required

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive experience in precast design and a proven ability to lead high-performing engineering teams. They bring strong technical expertise combined with effective leadership, communication, and decision-making skills to drive successful project outcomes. IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure required
  • 10+ years of experience in precast concrete design (preferred)
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Proficiency in engineering design review, calculations, and plan interpretation
  • Experience working with contractors, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
