Job description

Summary
The Residential Support Staff is a member of a team that provides direct care support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Residential Support Staff is primarily responsible for ensuring that each assigned individual is provided with active treatment that will afford the opportunity to enhance his/her daily living skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Implement goals and strategies consistent with DDS guidelines and CPM policies.
• Implement program goals and document progress according to teaching strategy.
• Provide transportation for medical, programmatic, and recreational requirements.
• Maintain required vehicle mileage, service, and safety documentation.
• Provide escort and efficient provision of medical progress notes, timely doctors' orders, and appointments.
• Track and document behavioral and programmatic data in an accurate and timely manner.
• Respond efficiently to crises and emergencies with a calm and reasoned response as necessary or directed by coordinator/supervisor or other member of the management team.
• Report all serious incidents to coordinator/supervisor or other members of the management team.
• All other duties assigned by Coordinator.
Qualifications
• Education - High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of DDS systems.
• Knowledge of basic computer technology and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Medication Certification through DDS, First Aid, CPR and PMT certifications must be acquired within six months of hire date and maintained throughout employment.
