Job description

Assistant Boys Hockey Coach - Grades 912

The Assistant Hockey Coach is responsible to the Head Hockey Coach and the Activities Director for assisting in the development and conduct of the hockey program in accordance with the policies of the school district and the rules of the North Dakota High School Activities Association. The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the program and helps promote a positive experience for student-athletes.

The following items, in addition to the general description for all coaches, make up the duties of the Assistant Hockey Coach.

  1. Attend the North Dakota High School Activities Association Rules Clinic if required by the Activities Director or Head Coach.
  2. Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices and game preparation.
  3. Assist in coaching during all practices and games.
  4. Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team functions.
  5. Assist with the organization and maintenance of team equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
  6. Promote good sportsmanship and proper conduct among student-athletes.
  7. Assist the Head Coach with statistics, scouting reports, or video review if assigned.
  8. Assist with supervision of locker rooms, bench areas, and team facilities.
  9. Assist with transportation logistics and student supervision during travel.
  10. Support enforcement of team rules, school policies, and regulations of the North Dakota High School Activities Association.
  11. Attend meetings scheduled by the Head Coach or Activities Director.
  12. Assist with team functions such as the end-of-season banquet and awards program.
  13. Assist with inventory, collection, and storage of equipment and uniforms at the conclusion of the season.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Activities Director.
