Position Summary:
Akicita Federal is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to provide administrative support at the Jicarilla Service Unit in Dulce, NM. This role is critical in ensuring efficient patient care and clinic operations within a federally operated healthcare environment serving Native American communities.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform routine clinical tasks under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare professional
-Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and record patient history
-Administer injections and immunizations as directed
-Assist providers with procedures and specimen collection
-Maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean and ready state
-Document patient care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
-Provide patient education and instructions per provider orders
-Coordinate patient flow to ensure smooth and efficient clinic operations
-Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, updating records, and responding to inquiries
-Comply with all infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or GED
-Completion of a Medical Assistant training program (Certificate or Diploma)
-Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
