Position – Activities Assistant
Location: Retirement Ranches, Inc. – Clovis, NM (on-site position)
Status: Part-Time
Schedule: Saturday-Sunday, 8:00a-4:00p

Job Summary:
The Activities Assistant supports the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of resident-centered recreational programs and activities within the long-term care facility. This position promotes residents’ physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being by providing meaningful opportunities that enhance quality of life. The Activities Assistant works in accordance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, resident care plans, and guidance from supervisors to ensure activities meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating resident activities that promote physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being.
  • Support the development and posting of monthly activity calendars and ensure residents have access to activity schedules.
  • Gather resident and family preferences to help create meaningful, person-centered activity programs.
  • Assist residents with participation in facility activities, including transportation to and from activity locations and one-on-one room visits when appropriate.
  • Lead and support group activities, special events, outings, and other recreational programs in accordance with resident care plans.
  • Document resident participation, progress, and responses to activities in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor resident mood, behavior, and engagement, and report changes or concerns to the Activities Director.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized activity goals.
  • Assist with Resident Council meetings, department coordination, and other facility activity-related needs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience working with older adults, preferably in a long-term care, healthcare, or recreational setting preferred.
  • Ability to assist with resident-centered activities and follow individualized care plans.
