Job description

The Customer Branch Support person will support the day-to-day operations at the branch with a multi-faceted approach to supporting our customers. This will be done mainly through the warehouse and driver support. This role will also lend support to inside sales as needed. They will also coordinate the transfer of product between locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse
  • Maintain store inventory levels and proper labeling of products
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment (i.e. operating forklifts) and maintain warehouse organization
  • Prepare and complete daily orders for customer shipments/deliveries; includes picking orders, material packaging, labeling shipments, and paperwork completion
  • Maintain cleanliness of the building to ensure safety of all employees, customer, and visitors
  • Will help prepare OSC delivery driver's load and will help to unload for each day's delivery route
  • Complete cycle count inventory
Customer Support
  • Assist with selling welding equipment and supplies to customers using technical knowledge
  • Provide excellent customer support
  • Assist customers in choosing the best supplies and equipment to meet their needs
  • Work closely with Sales Department to assist with customer quotes, questions and orders
  • Field incoming calls to branch location
  • Communicate and cultivate the Core Values of OSC internally and externally
  • Cultivate and maintain positive business relationships
  • Attend and participate in scheduled department meetings
  • Prepare customer pickup orders
  • Handle cylinder transactions and sell various OSC gas programs

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of special projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Fill gases for customer orders
  • Cover for the Inside Sales/Store Manager in their absence

Education, Experience and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Basic knowledge of welding and gases industry is helpful, but needed training will be provided
  • Must be a team player with good communication and works well with others
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook is required
  • Demonstrate professionalism, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel
  • Must be organized, have good reasoning skills, math aptitude and time management skills

Job Specifications/Requirements:
Ability to stand on your feet 5-6 hours a day with occasional walking, twisting, bending, reaching, lifting/carrying, grasping and repetitive motions; occasional sitting. Frequent lifting of 20-25lbs is required, may at times lift up to 75lbs. May at times push/pull 25lbs and up to 75lbs. Ability to make customer deliveries and work in moderately warm or cold conditions. Willingness to travel between locations as necessary for product shipments or training.
