Job Description:

The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is currently seeking aย Specialist, Program Management. This role is located at our Huntsville, AL (headquarters) facility. The Program Manager will assist in leading phases of programs: planning, execution, strategy, and management. This program manager will help drive program action to achieve business and financial objectives for orders, revenue, profit, and cash flow for two existing programs. This person will assist in cost, schedule, and technical performance for designated project areas working with a program lead or manager to achieve results. Acts as customer contact for internal program activities, assists in leading review sessions with customers for assigned aspects of proposal development, negotiations, and execution. Assists in coordinating program support, production, and supply chain teams to ensure on time and on budget deliveries.

Essential Functions:

  • Under direction from the Business Area Director and other senior Program Manager managers, this candidate will assist in program direction, control, and coordination.
  • Responsible for helping the program team hit ramp rates for case and cast manufacturing for a critical large solid rocket motor program
  • Manages and directs sub elements of the program schedule, which can include defining and understanding program scope, managing overall schedules and budget in accordance with applicable contractual and Aerojet Rocketdyne policies.
  • Assists in developing plans for follow-on production programs including proposal development, submittal, negotiation, and definitization.
  • Participates in the forecast of awards/margins and sales/profit for assigned programs as part of the Aerojet Rocketdyne business planning cycle.
  • Provides assistance to the integrated product team across engineering, operations, and manufacturing to resolve complex technical or operations problems.
  • Responsible for effectively utilizing functional organizations to integrate research and development, production, quality assurance, test, production support, procurement, contractual and financial data.
  • Acts as a conduit for communications with internal stakeholders across our manufacturing sites (Canoga, CA, Camden, AK, and Huntsville, AL)
  • Up to 25% business travel to other L3Harris and customer sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant program management experience; or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related program management experience; or 8 years of prior related program management experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrated managerial level of leadership.
  • Knowledge of missile propulsion production and experience in manufacturing capacity expansion
  • Knowledge of financial management and business development practices.
  • Experience with DoD contract execution. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
