Position: Special Education Paraprofessional Job Summary:The Paraprofessional provides essential support to classroom teachers, facilitates learning activities for students, and oversees the planning and implementation of the school's special education program. This role requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills to ensure the academic, social, and emotional development of students during and after school hours.

Primary Responsibilities

Student Support:

  • Assist teachers in delivering instruction and reinforcing learning concepts in the classroom.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
  • Monitor student behavior and ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Assist in the preparation of instructional materials, resources, and activities.
  • Support students with special needs by implementing accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or specialist.

General Duties:

  • Serve as a role model and promote positive behavior and respect among students.
  • Maintain accurate records of planning and implementation of activities.
  • Communicate with special education team.
