POSITION SUMMARY:
The Saratoga Regional YMCA is hiring for a Program Assistant and we are excited to have you join our team! This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides support with the daily operation of youth and adult programs such as Youth Sports, Archery, Adult Leagues, STEM, Dance, Arts, Family Programs, Birthday Parties, Parents Night Out, and Kids Night Out. The Program Assistant helps ensure program spaces are safe, welcoming, organized, and aligned with YMCA standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in preparing and delivering program activities.
  • Support program set-up, equipment organization, and clean-up to ensure safe, high-quality experiences.
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants, parents, guardians, and members.
  • Help maintain program safety by following YMCA policies, emergency procedures, and incident reporting guidelines.
  • Assist with supervising participants to ensure a positive, inclusive environment.
  • Support the tracking of attendance and distribution/collection of evaluations or surveys.
  • Promote positive member engagement by answering questions, encouraging participation, and modeling YMCA values.
  • Communicate program needs, concerns, and successes to the Senior Program Director.
  • Assist with special events and department fundraising activities as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support program operations.

Requirements
  • Minimum age of 15 years old; Must be able to furnish working papers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction.
  • Current CPR PRO & First Aid certifications preferred.
