The Legal Support Assistant provides administrative and operational support to multiple attorneys within the corporate legal department. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to multiple attorneys, including calendar management and meeting coordination.
  • Prepare, compare (redline), edit, and format correspondence, reports, presentations, and legal documents.
  • Manage document preparation and organizational processes.
  • Track deadlines, action items, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of legal work.
  • Manage electronic and physical files in accordance with records retention and confidentiality standards.
  • Coordinate internal meetings including logistics, materials, and follow-up actions.
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and administrative transactions using internal systems.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal business partners and external vendors, responding professionally and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Support department initiatives, audits, and projects assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple professionals simultaneously.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe and document management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Requirements
  • Preference of 2-4 years of executive support and administrative experience, preferably in a legal, insurance, or regulated corporate environment
  • Experience working in a hybrid or in-office professional environment.
  • Education: Post-secondary education preferred but not required for candidates with strong administrative capabilities and relevant experience.

Work Schedule
  • Non-exempt position with overtime eligibility.
  • In-office position four days per week / one remote workday; with manager approval
  • Standard business hours.

$52,000 - $64,000 a year
Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $52,000 to $64,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.
