At Farmbox we are dedicated to changing where and how great produce is grown. Since planting our first seeds 2011, our team has created a sustainable urban farm where the harvest cycle is days, not months. Our hydroponic, vertical farm uses 90 percent less water than traditional agriculture, is pesticide and herbicide free, and we harvest tender microgreens daily, regardless of season. We grow in square feet, not acres. We use energy efficient LED lights and in our fully climate-controlled facility to consistently produce the freshest greens that can be to a customer's plate within hours of harvest.

From our Seattle farm located in the SODO neighborhood we supply microgreens to local marketplaces and hundreds loyal restaurants all over the Pacific Northwest. At Farmbox Greens we work hard because we believe that food should be grown responsibly, locally, and taste delicious.

Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a hardworking, detail oriented, self-starter to add to our team to help with day-to-day production and farm operations. This is an entry-level position which entails all aspects of indoor farming including planting, harvesting, packaging, cleaning, and food safety. Our facility is highly regulated by our food safety measures which require our employees to have attention to detail with all aspects of their work.

Essential Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To:

  • Assisting in the growth and packing of microgreens
  • Harvesting, packing, labeling, and boxing produce
  • Cleaning and sanitizing growing area
  • Measuring and preparing seed for planting
  • Recording and documenting food safety procedures
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Must have basic mathematic knowledge and skills.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and be able to follow instructions closely.
  • Previous experience working in restaurants, in a greenhouse, or an agricultural production position.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel, and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 - 50lbs.
  • Ability to be flexible and multi-task in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse-type environment.
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment by following all safety practices and food safety procedures.
