Residential C.N.A. Assistant Program Operations Manager Full-Time/Evenings

Pay Rate $24.25 / Hourly

Schedule: Sunday 9am-7pm, Monday 1pm-11pm, Thursday 1pm-11pm, Friday 1pm-11pm

People Incorporated is a human service Agency serving the Southcoast community, including the Greater Fall River and Taunton areas. As a partnership of specialized, integrated programs, we provide unique opportunities to people with life challenges. Since our inception in 1968, we have been one of the largest providers of supports and services to people of all abilities in the community.

Our Residential Program is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team as Assistant Program Operations Managers. This position will serve as a management team member responsible for assisting the Program Operations Manager in the overall functioning of assigned residential site(s).

INDIVIDUAL RELATED FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure all physical, emotional, and medical needs of the individuals are met on a daily basis.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans for individuals in assigned sites.
  • Ensure all Human Rights are being honored and monitored with the Human Rights Coordinator and Officers.
  • Assist in the development of the individual training programs in self-help skills, social aptitude, behavior management, leisure time use, and advocacy; promote individual choice, empowerment, and dignity; and secure consultant services when necessary.
  • Assist in the coordination of individuals in relocation, including promoting individual preference in selection of housing and housemates.
  • Assist in the coordination of assigned individual vacations through their personal preference and financial resources.
  • Provide Direct Care functions as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining financial records and confidential files for individuals residing in assigned sites.
  • Act as a professional liaison between People Incorporated and the individuals family and guardians and any other stakeholders.
  • May be required to use personal vehicle for work purposes.
  • For LPNs, RNs, CNAs position,
    • Assist in the planning and management of the individuals medical care.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT RELATED FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in ensuring assigned staff are oriented and trained for all individual concerns as needed.
  • Participate and ensure house meetings are conducted to increase individual empowerment, choice, pride, and ownership.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to staff on a consistent basis.
  • Address staff performance concerns in a timely fashion with guidance from the Program Operations Manager.
  • Provide role modeling, guidance, and direction of the Positive Behavior Support model through observation and feedback to staff with guidance from the POM and Clinical Support Division.
  • Assist in interviewing prospective employees, and coordinate interviews with individuals to facilitate their input in staff selection as needed.

COMPLIANCE RELATED FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in self-preservation testing and ensure that periodic fire drills are conducted for each individual and/or site.
  • Assist in ensuring licensing compliance for assigned sites by reviewing and implementing, if necessary, Department of Developmental Services goals and standards.
  • Assist in serving as liaison to licensing agents for routine scheduling and the survey/certification process, and to landlords and governmental agencies, to promote and facilitate individual involvement.
  • Assist in conducting the QA assessment tool monthly as needed.
  • Assist in providing oversight of MAP implementation, training and compliance, familiarity with regulations and updates.
  • Conduct staff training pursuant to Agency and MAP policy and procedure to ensure Agency and division compliance.
  • Participate in all staff meetings and required training sessions, including in-service training, as scheduled.
  • Maintain all program and Agency required trainings.

ADMINISTRATIVE RELATED FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in providing oversight of staff time management, coverage, and overtime.
  • Conduct staff meetings on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Provide reports and program information as directed, including coordinating the collating and forwarding of documents to associate departments and agencies.
  • Assist in communicating with guardians and families.
  • Acts as Interim Program Operations Manager in the absence of Program Operations Manager.
  • Serve as on-call supervisor during on-shift hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating relief pool scheduling and evaluation.
  • Maintain expertise in field through attendance at assigned training.
  • Work collaboratively with other Residential Division sites to provide supports as needed.
  • Work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Attend Residential Division Team meetings as assigned.
  • Review and adhere to budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

FACITLITIES RELATED FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the coordination and participate in licensing and other internal and/or external reviews as needed.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and facility inspections conform to regulatory standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Agency vehicle and keep related maintenance logs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • An associates degree in human services or a related field; or one year of related experience
  • Current Massachusetts C.N.A. license
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate effective project management skills
  • Ability to follow organization policies, procedures, and management decisions
  • Ability to supervise or coordinate others in a residential setting serving developmentally disabled adults
  • Ability to respond adeptly and responsibly to site and division emergencies
  • Ability to safely transport individuals using an Agency and/or personal vehicle
  • Ability to stay on shift until the following shift has all arrived or management has approved otherwise
  • A qualifying criminal background check, driving record and a valid drivers license
  • A current copy of all required health records and TB assessments

Preferred:

  • Individuals with interest in C.N.A, PCA and HHA type work are encouraged to apply.
  • Students in Human Services, Psychology, and Sociology programs are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to demonstrate effective project management and leadership skills.
