Job description

Job Overview of Program Manager
The Program Manager is a leader in the residential program, ensuring that all respective activities support the children and team in the effective, safe, and therapeutic operation of the residence and campus operations. The goal is to provide quality supports and services to all youth within the program and to ensure the highest quality of care and safety for the children and staff.
Hours of Program Manager: Sunday-Thursday 9am-5pm with flexibility as needed
Essential Duties of Program Manager
Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Working closely with the Director and Assistant Director of Residential as well as other program leadership to ensure appropriate day-to-day operations of the residence and residential program overall
  • Understand, reinforce, role-model and consistently use all Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and techniques
  • Always ensure appropriate supervision to all residents and staff to optimize safety
  • Develop and maintain staffing schedules and appropriate staffing ratios
  • Participate actively in all aspects of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training of Assistant Program Managers, Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) and other residential staff as needed
  • Consistently monitor staff performance of all staff providing feedback, instruction, support, modeling, and/or corrective action as needed
  • Have advanced knowledge of crisis assessment & intervention, and be available to staff as needed during emergency situations
  • Assist in monitoring budget and spending, including petty cash, to ensure the best use of resources to meet program needs
  • Responsible for assessing the individual needs of each resident, assessing group dynamics and providing therapeutic support to each child or group of children to ensure safe delivery of services as well as structured programming for the residence.
  • Assure that all required documentation remains updated, available and all staff are actively provided with training to ensure accurate information guides treatment.
  • Work collaboratively with Clinicians, Behaviorists, Recreation therapists, Trainers, Administrative departments etc. to support the needs of the children and staff
  • Supports overall strategic plan of the organization
  • Ability to adhere to our organization's core values and commitments
Essential Qualifications of Program Manager
Key qualifications include:
  • High School diploma with 3+ years direct support experience w/children or adults with developmental or behavioral disabilities
  • 2+ years of administrative/supervisory experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must always model professionalism and be able to keep composure during crisis
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to our agency programs.

Physical/Travel Requirements
Must have ability to reach, walk, sit, climb stairs, bend, and lift up to 30lbs independently. Valid Driver's License (3+ years) required for transport; license must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
Must be able to work flexible schedule in partnership with other Program Managers, Assistant Program Managers and Direct Support Professionals to ensure staffing requirements and needs are met. This includes early mornings, late evenings, day shifts, weekends and during times of crisis.
Must participate in and maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training. All staff will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint upon hire and periodically throughout employment. Must maintain CPR/First Aid certifications.
