Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:  Admin Assistant (Engineering, Programs)                FLSA STATUS:  Non Exempt

REPORTS TO:  Corp Eng - Chief Engineer

SUMMARY

This is a responsible position requiring initiation, administration and follow-up of KBPD activity on assigned engineering projects, as well as the items listed below.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Under general supervision, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • EC creation, logging and tracking to completion of workflow
    • Maintain documentation on various program activity (open issues, program PO’s, program financial document reviews, etc.)
    • Create appearance approval document, track changes and distribute to team members.
    • In conjunction with the Project Engineer or Program Manager, generate RFQ

documents for all changes that impact tooling and/or product pricing. Track the

program’s budget.

    • Complete and generate KRAs for the employees within the specific engineering group based on information gathered from Gate Reviews, Financial Reports, etc.
    • Review and track updates on all Sales Orders for the program. Generate Purchase

Orders, secondary tooling, gaging, sample material, etc. based on funding from

the Sales Order.

    • Maintain the Programs Milestones, working with Program Managers to update milestone dates each month.
    • Maintain and update workplans throughout the program at the direction of the Program Manager. Participate in program reviews internally and with OEMs
    • Prepare and update monthly reports, tooling invoices. (TIRs/Milestones/KRAs)
    • Maintain build area inventory.
    • Maintain and update bump charts and part number lists for assigned programs.
    • Track, maintain and facilitate communications for Tech Center and Plant pre-production orders for assigned programs.
    • Work with PE’s or Plant Customer Service Coordinatores to prepare and ship pre-production orders.
    • Work with Finance to review monthly financial reports to maintain accurate Program and Group data
    • Create and maintain asset lists and related documentation for the life of the program.  Submit for asset approvals per OEM standard.
    • Track tooling PO’s and PPAP dates for timely invoicing, as well as submitting tooling invoicing requests for all tooling PO’s on assigned programs.
    • Ford Programs only – Enter information into WERS (Ford’s System).
    • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Two years manufacturing related experience (preferably in automotive) and some college instruction [preferably in an engineering curriculum].  

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Possesses the ability to learn routines quickly, train others for routine positions and gathers information.

  • A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 20 on the cognitive portion).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position typically does not require any travel.
