BAE Systems is looking for a Program Manager with a DoD/DOE Project/Program Management background supporting our Payloads portfolio for an exciting opportunity with the Warhead Integration/LPO team integrating a new warhead with a new reentry vehicle. The Program Manager will assist the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Lead Project Officer (LPO) to coordinate nuclear weapon projects and their associated requirements detailed in Department of Energy (DoE), Department of Defense (DoD), and United States Air Force (USAF) directives. The Program Manager is a multifaceted position that will lead a team ensuring acquisition program milestones and objectives are anticipated, required program events are scheduled and facilitated, and program related tasks are properly coordinated.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead tasks and project reporting for the W87-1 LPO, including but not limited to developing and managing program reviews, plans, procedures, analyses and other related tasks.
  • Assist the W87-1 LPO and Payloads Division with program analysis, requirements review, documentation, risk management and program management.
  • Integrate program acquisition risks, schedules and milestones. Acquisition responsibilities also include coordination with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), update roadmap entries, and interface with various agencies including DoE national labs.
  • Develop briefings, program plans, spreadsheets, and performance measures for technical programs in reaction to short suspense demands with minimal input from managers or customers.
  • Potential to lead a sub-group to include arranging and running meetings, tracking action items, and submitting minutes.
  • Collaborate with a team of project managers and engineers plus specialized matrixed support.

Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status. This position is only located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, due to the special-access classified working environment and is not conducive to regular "telework" or remote schedules.

Required Skills and Education
  • 10 or more years progressive project management experience.
  • Familiarity with military technology and technical data, nuclear warhead experience a bonus.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) commensurate with expected mid to senior level civilian and military participants from various US Government agencies.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative and organize daily tasks with minimal or no supervision.
  • Experience leading small teams and stakeholders working multiple complex projects.
  • Current U.S. Government security clearance (Secret). Must be eligible for a TS/SAP clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
