Job Summary:
Leads the property employee health & safety, risk management, and security efforts and provides technical support to the quality and environmental management systems ensuring not only compliance with all legal and other requirements but also continuous improvement in all departments. This position also works closely with EHS and security departments at other Vail properties and the associated corporate functions to align with company strategies and programs.

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $65,000.00 - $70,910.00 + annual bonus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the company's OSHA certifications and programs
  • Responsible for the local application of company's Workman's Comp program
  • Accountable for the employee health and safety programs
  • Accountable for employee and guest risk management program
  • Accountable for the seasonal security department including hiring, management, and compliance
  • Deparment scheduling, payroll, and all other administrative duties
  • Responsible for the Health, Safety and Security department compliance with the company administrative programs
  • Liason with the National Park Service (NPS)
  • Serve as the company incident command lead
  • Committed to providing superior service and quality standards for external and internal guests
  • Support the Environmental Team w/ implementation of Spill, Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC); chemical reduction and materials management
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Occupational Safety or related
  • Health & Safety experience with large org. preferred
  • 1-3 years
  • First Aid/CPR/AED required, 29 CFR 1910 OSHA General Industry Standard
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills in English, Spanish desired
  • Familiarity with state and federal, environmental and safety regulatory knowledge
  • ISO or management systems certifications understanding, OSHA, WC

The expected pay range is $65,000.00 - $70,910.00 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
