Job Description:

The Missile Solutions Capacity Expansion team is seeking a Director of Program Management to lead and manage a team responsible for meeting cost, schedule, and technical performance goals to design manufacturing processes and facilities as part of a larger effort to expand capacity. This individual will lead various team members across disciplines within a matrix organization, aligning high level objectives with detailed designs. This position will benefit from strong technical understanding of solid rocket motors and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include guiding the team, collaborating with cross-functional groups, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and on-budget execution of process/site development, change management, proper approvals and delivery of required capacity increase. This Program Manager will operate within a larger PMO Structure and have high visibility with executive leadership. Relocation assistance available to Huntsville or Orange, Camden and Melbourne are acceptable but relocation will not be offered.

Essential Functions:

  • Guide the team, collaborate with cross-functional groups, and engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and on-budget execution of process/site development, change management, proper approvals, and delivery of required capacity increases.
  • Operate within a larger PMO structure and report directly to Director-level leadership.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve key business objectives.
  • Manage program deliverables to ensure schedules, budgets, and customer timelines are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Update the team's status against the integrated master schedule (IMS) on a periodic basis.
  • Manage and report on the financial status of the project to stakeholders.
  • Ensure resources such as Engineering, Technical SMEs, Production, and Facilities are available and aligned with program objectives.
  • Assist in proposals, work statements, work breakdown structures (WBS), operating budgets, and schedule integration into the larger capacity plan.
  • Identify risks, develop and implement corrective actions, and initiate program changes as necessary.
  • Control expenditures within the project budget and regularly report on budget vs. actual performance.
  • Create and maintain a Project Management Plan (PMP) to align with project execution.
  • Establish clarity, roles, responsibilities, and expectations around upcoming deliverables across multiple functions within the organization.
  • Provide updates for scheduled Program Management Reviews to leadership.
  • Own program baseline reviews and program close-outs.
  • Communicate with stakeholders within and outside the department and occasionally with external parties.
  • Familiarity with the Engineering design process, including Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Systems Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), to support proper program execution.
  • The selected candidate must be able to support 25% business travel.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 15 years of prior Operations or Program Management experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 13 years of prior Operations or Program Management experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior Operations or Program Management experience.

  • 5+ years of experience directly managing cross-functional teams.

  • 5+ years experience supporting production programs or working in an operations environment with hardware.
  • 5+ years of earned value management (EVM) experience with a keen understanding of Cost Account Manager (CAM) resposibilities and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Previous Experience in large program deliverables like manufacturing site development, manufacturing and engineering development, and change management.
  • Previous Experience in Operations with focus on automation is desired
  • Experience with MS Office suite of tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with ORACLE ERP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and SharePoint Defense industry experience.
  • Previous Experience in managing change board process through Failure Review Boards, Technical Change boards, Change Control Boards, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or other scheduling tools.
  • PMP Certification.
