Job description

Program Manager

We are looking for a Program Manager to join our Target Rock Team!

As a Program Manager you will be responsible for business results on the business units largest program (Profit and Loss, meeting annual plan and growth for the business unit). You will be the lead Program Manager. The scope of this position includes leadership of a cross functional Navy Nuclear Propulsion product line team (Contract Administrators, Project Engineers, QA Engineers, Planners, Buyers, Production Control, Program Managers), Profit and Loss accountability, new business generation, proposal generation (leading Bid / No Bid activities), booking orders, overseeing negotiations, and overseeing operation activities to ensure customer satisfaction for the site's single largest customer.

Location: East Farmingdale, NY.

Annual Salary: $150,000-170,000

Your Challenge

  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams to ensure all project commitments are satisfied.

  • Direct ownership of 60% of the business unit's annual P&L

  • Reporting of financial metrics to senior management: Operational Income, Sales, Cashflow, Working Capital, %ROS, etc

  • Create, track, assign and distribute various documentation/reports for managing and monitoring the applicable programs, including Sales Plan, Delivery Reports, Project Schedules, etc

  • Establish, track, and monitor all project budgets and based upon actual project performance; contingency and/or recovery plans are developed, implemented, and monitored as required.

  • Support Sales in request for quotes (RFQ) and/or invitations to bid (ITB), reviews, terms, and conditions (T&C) and project/budget histories.

  • Customer interface including scheduling Customer Audits, Surveillance Inspections and providing Project Progress Reports as required.

  • Meeting annual sales booking targets.

  • Approve and assign Warranty Projects as necessary.

  • Interact with Sourcing and suppliers to plan for and secure the materials needed for the program and future production

  • Periodic travel to customer and supplier sites to support program execution and business development activities

  • Take a proactive stance by developing contingency plans in potential risk areas and identifying contingency plan deployment criteria to resolve potential problems. Report potential problems to upper management.

  • Apprise senior management of all concerns noted in the course of performing daily activities.

Requirements

  • US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance

  • Five (5) years' experience in Program Management and familiarity with Technical/Engineering specifications and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and manage detailed program budgets

  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems and Risk Management

  • Strong financial acumen and experience reporting financials to senior management

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures for a high complexity product line

  • Prior engineering/operations experience with current experience in program management

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions

  • Strong customer relationship experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to diverse internal and external audiences

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus

  • P/C computer skills, with excellence in MS Office including MS Project. Prior mainframe applications and ORACLE ERP knowledge a plus.

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a plus

  • Prior experience with overseeing Navy programs is a plus
