Job description
Reporting to the Director of Milestone Reunions, the Assistant Director works with several high-level alumni volunteer committees from five classes to cultivate and prepare each class for their 50th Reunion. Duties include all aspects of program development including fundraising, volunteer management, and independently directing and managing class events and communications with the goal of connecting alumni to each other and the college around this milestone reunion. Key programs include Fall Mini-Reunion Weekend including Pass the Baton events, Spring Presidential Forum, June Oxford Class Trip, regional gatherings, off-site mini-reunions, and increased virtual events, and 50th Reunion Committee meetings, the 50th Reunion Weekend itself, and various programs unique to the particular history and character of each class.
Responsibilities:
- Engagement activities and event planning and support - Plans, manages, and executes all major 50th Reunion events, including the June reunion, other campus events, and class-led regional and virtual programs. Working closely with alumni volunteers and campus partners, this role oversees all event logistics, vendor details, staffing, and budget management.
- Volunteer management and collaboration - Cultivates, trains, and manages high-level alumni volunteers and members of 50th Reunion classes. This position serves as the primary liaison with up to six classes of alumni volunteers for alumni engagement and outreach efforts and reunion weekend planning and execution.
- 50th Reunion Fundraising - Assists the Director with 50th Reunion fundraising through committee work, reporting, and responding to and initiating gift conversations with prospective supporters.
- Digital Engagement and Communications - Develops and executes class communication calendar and strategies to generate enthusiasm for 50th events and class engagement. Coordinates with internal partners and assists with all communications and digital material creation for the team.
- Technology, systems, and operations -- Works closely with Advancement Operations to coordinate program's use of the Slate alumni database and other technology including: identifying and reconciling reporting inconsistencies in Slate, developing reports and dashboards for both internal program use and external volunteer support; and collaborating on implementation of on-line services for classes such as online registration and giving. Point person and trainer for other program staff on new technology tools.
- Team operations and finances - Manages financial activities including developing and reconciling budgets for each major event including overseeing all contracts, payment of all internal and external vendors, and accounting for registration fees, and tracking and regularly reporting on program income and expenditures.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple diverse assignments/projects simultaneously and meet complex goals.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and sustain relationships with key campus partners, respond diplomatically to diverse constituencies, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in assessing and translating data to address complex challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Volunteer and/or event planning experience in higher education and/or high-level event planning, communications, or constituent relations experience.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.
- Direct experience working within Slate CRM or similar advancement databases.
Physical demands of the position:
- Ability to transport supplies across campus in support of events and class-based mailings; ability for lifting up to 30 pounds for limited periods of time; and ability to navigate campus in order to meet with alumni.
- Position involves routine office work, including use of a computer with standing or sitting desk options. Meetings may be conducted in-person or remotely (e.g. via Zoom).
- Producing events involves a variety of venues on campus, some of which are designed to be accessible, and many of which may be exposed to the elements (includes heat/cold conditions, dry/arid, wet/rain/snow conditions).
- Position will include weekend and evening work at certain times of the year.
Application Details:
Application review will begin on September 8, 2026. Pay range is from $72,500-$82,500, commensurate with experience.

Remote work policy:
In select circumstances, hybrid on-site/remote work arrangements may be available for up to 2 days per week of remote work for employees based in MA, NY, CT, or VT, following a fully in-person onboarding period. This position requires a minimum of 3 days per week of on-campus, in-person work. Remote work arrangements are subject to review and revision as policy evolves. Remote work will not be available on the days of, and essential planning days leading up to, major on-campus events.
