Position: Program Manager

Department: Red Shield Family Residence                                                

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Full Time

Reporting Relationship: Assistant Director of RSFR

Salary/Grade: $22 per hour; 76NE

About the Eliza Shirley House & Red Shield Family Residence: The Salvation Army’s ESH and RSFR are a safe and welcoming emergency housing programs offering loving, respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental services to empower residents to strive towards self-sufficiency. All family configurations, including families with teenaged children, and single men with children are accepted.


Description of Position: The Program Manager (PM) is a supportive member of the Team at RSFR to engage the community to support and provide programing within the shelter. The PM oversees the running of after school programing and summer camp programming within the emergency housing as well as plans, coordinates, and supervises special youth trips and activities, and supports the Haven of Hope Learning Zone. The PM works with community partners to secure donations and funding and coordinates all volunteer and special events.


Requirements: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW).
  • Training in trauma-informed care (Sanctuary Model Training) preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
