PART TIME POSITION: 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. (Approx 10 hrs/wk) QUALIFICATIONS:An associates (or higher) degree preferred but not requiredMinimum 1 year experience working with school age children required REQUIREMENTS:The Campus Leader will direct, organize and manage the daily operations of Bushland after-school programlearning opportunitiesCreate and reinforce an inviting and safe expanded learning environment for students including, but not limited to, age-appropriate enrichment, creative arts, and recreation activitiesWork with groups of children with diverse abilities and needs and ensure safety and well-being of students at the assigned campusCommunicate clearly with parents about their children and the programCommunicate and work collaboratively with the campus administration and staff to identify community and student needs, provide consistency with campus climate and procedures, and ensure the proper use of building materials and equipmentMaintain efficient and accurate student records including attendance, medical, and discipline records with extreme discretion, in a timely manner, and in compliance with all confidentiality requirementsMaintain a professional and confidential relationship with regard to student, parents, and other staffProvide strong leadership to multiple staff; provide ongoing targeted coaching and training on prescribed areasReview daily attendance and implement steps to verify absences and ensure all children are accounted for on a constant/daily basisMaintain a highly functional site at assigned campus in compliance with district, health, nutritional and program standards, policies and proceduresComplete training in emergency preparedness plan including certification in CPR/First AidAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsBe able to walk and stand for sustained periods of timeBe able to change from sitting on the floor to standing positions oftenDemonstrate knowledge of child development theories and practices related to the physical, intellectual and social development of school age studentsStrong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both orally and writtenAbility to handle stressful situations, multi-task and meet deadlinesOther duties as assignedTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above essential duties satisfactorily.
