We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, execution-focused Director, Communications & Brand to join our Corporate Communications team. This role is ideal for a strong project manager and hands-on content creator who excels at storytelling, crafting compelling presentations, and translating strategy into clear, engaging communications and visuals across multiple channels. This role plays a key role in shaping and executing internal and external communications, ensuring consistent, compelling positioning across digital channels, brand storytelling, and key stakeholder touchpoints.

You will work closely with the VP of Communications, leaders, managers, and cross-functional partners to develop, package, and deliver internal and external communications and brand initiatives that support our culture, strategy, and employee and customer experiences. This role requires exceptional writing, editing, visual communication, and program-management skills

Summary

Primary Responsibilities

Internal & External Communications Execution

  • Transform strategic messages into compelling narratives, stories, graphics, and presentation materials.

  • Lead storytelling for key initiatives, bringing clarity, consistency, and creativity to all deliverables.

  • Manage communication channels (intranet, email, slides, SharePoint, website updates) to ensure timely, accurate information delivery.

  • Support leaders with communication toolkit development, including talking points, presentation decks, templates, and visual storytelling.

  • Develop, write, edit, and publish high-quality content for employees, including messages, news stories, announcements, scripts, videos, and campaigns.

  • Develop and execute external messaging and storytelling that clearly communicates our value proposition, differentiation, and impact to customers, candidates, and other key stakeholders.

  • Ensure consistency of external narratives across website, social media, campaigns, and other outward-facing channels.

  • Partner with business and functional leaders to translate product, technology, and strategy into clear, externally facing content.

Project & Program Management

  • Serve as project manager for major communication programs, including culture initiatives, strategic campaigns, leadership meetings, and brand rollouts.

  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and stakeholder workflows to ensure ontime execution.

  • Coordinate crossfunctional partners, consolidate inputs, manage approvals, and ensure alignment with strategy and brand guidelines.

  • Manage logistics and communication deliverables for leadership summits, employee town halls, and enterprise events.

Brand & Visual Identity

  • Implement and maintain Novanta's visual and verbal brand identity across all materials.

  • Develop and maintain templates, toolkits, and presentation materials for companywide use.

  • Partner with business units to ensure consistent brand execution across decentralized teams.

  • Support the development and rollout of brand campaigns, messaging frameworks, and storytelling assets.

Slide Development & Visual Storytelling

  • Create highimpact PowerPoint presentations for leadership meetings, internal events, and external stakeholders.

  • Translate complex topics into simple, visually clear messages, diagrams, and narratives.

  • Elevate design quality by ensuring brand consistency, clarity, and professionalism across all presentations.

Digital Presence & Content

  • Drive and execute a coordinated external content strategy across digital channels (website and social media), aligned with company priorities and brand positioning.

  • Lead social media content planning and execution, particularly on LinkedIn, including oversight of content calendars and publishing cadence.

  • Partner with marketing, businesses, and functions to ensure consistent external messaging, tone, and priorities across all channels.

  • Coordinate contributions to shared digital and social channels, aligning stakeholders and maintaining a cohesive brand voice across the company.

  • Develop and support website and digital content, including updates and coordination with external partners.

  • Monitor performance of external communications and apply insights to continuously improve content effectiveness, reach, and engagement.

  • Support campaign-based storytelling tied to key initiatives, product launches, employer brand, and thought leadership

External Communications & Brand Visibility

  • Support the development and execution of external communications initiatives that enhance our visibility and reputation.

  • Partner cross-functionally to align external messaging with business priorities, customer value, and growth opportunities.

  • Contribute to thought leadership, campaign storytelling, and external narratives that position us as a trusted technology partner.

  • Ensure all external touchpoints reflect a consistent, high-quality brand experience.

Leader & Employee Enablement

  • Partner with leaders to build communication capability through guidance, editing support, and messaging frameworks.

  • Provide handson support for leader communications, including talking points, slide builds, and message development.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, brand, or related functions within a complex or decentralized organization.

  • Experience supporting external communications, digital content strategy, or brand storytelling across channels such as websites and social media.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a strong portfolio of communication examples.

  • Advanced PowerPoint skills, including visual storytelling, information design, and executive-level slide development.

  • Strong project management capabilities and able to juggle multiple complex initiatives with precision and attention to detail.

  • Strong design and creative development skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, visually compelling presentations, graphics, and communication assets.

  • Experience working with brand guidelines and elevating the visual quality of executive-level materials.

  • Experience executing internal and external communications strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leaders in a fast-moving environment.

  • Familiarity with employer brand, employee experience, and culture-building initiatives is a plus.

  • Experience managing or coordinating website content and working with digital or creative agencies.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel). Comfort using AI tools (generative writing, image generation, and slidebuilding assistants) to accelerate content creation, improve visual storytelling, and enhance overall communication efficiency.

  • The salary for this role will range from 167,640.00 USD to 250,600.00 USD annual based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, training, experience, education, etc.

  • Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives. Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
