The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity for a full time Program Manager, Social Services to work in Miami, FL.


The Program Manager, Social Services provides support and assistance to specific programs or research studies.
Core responsibilities:

  • Coordinates internal and external resources for a flawless execution of programs.
  • Ensures resource availability and appropriate allocation.
  • Ensures that all program objectives and deadlines are met within scope and budget.
  • Assists department leadership in defining program scope and objectives.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility.
  • Develops a plan to monitor and track program progress.
  • Measures program performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Manages changes to the program scope, schedule, and costs, using appropriate verification processes.
  • Reports concerns, program status, and progress to appropriate managing staff.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Department Specific Functions:

Main Jump Start Job Functions:

  • Enroll participants and maintain an assigned caseload of at least 7 participants, which may include program directors, teachers, and children (e.g., 2 directors, 4 teachers, and 1 children).
  • Conduct clinical and programmatic assessments and collect required data to determine eligibility, identify needs, and inform consultation services.
  • Provide weekly Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) services to participants based on individualized action plans and identified areas of need.
  • Connect participants with appropriate community resources, referrals, and additional supports based on identified needs.
  • Participate in individual and group reflective supervision and other supervisory activities as required.
  • Participate in required trainings and ongoing professional development to support clinical competency, program fidelity, and continued professional growth.
  • Support leadership, programmatic, and operational responsibilities, including but not limited to conducting biannual program fidelity reviews, onboarding and supporting new clinical staff, providing training and mentorship to consultants as needed, and developing educational and programmatic content for Jump Start platforms, including the website and mobile application.

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Operational Management: Optimizes day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Organizational Development: Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change.
  • Financial Oversight: Knowledge of financial operations and management.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
