Job description

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Program Manager Intern to support a fast-paced, technical organization within the Utilities & Energy sector. This role provides hands-on experience working across multiple programs and projects, with a particular emphasis on network engineering-related initiatives that support connectivity, infrastructure, and technical service delivery. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to help keep work organized, transparent, and aligned to shared objectives, while gaining exposure to real-world program and project management practices.
Duration
Full-time internship during the summer, with potential to continue part-time during the academic year based on performance and business needs.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the coordination and execution of multiple network engineering-related projects across a technical organization serving utility and energy customers
  • Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to help ensure accountability, visibility, and alignment with program goals
  • Partner collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to gather updates, remove blockers, and maintain accurate project status for network engineering workstreams
  • Prepare clear, concise reports, summaries, and status updates to support informed decision-making by team members and leaders
  • Assist in building and maintaining dashboards and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and outcomes
  • Organize, consolidate, and maintain project information, documentation, workflows, and reporting tools
  • Help identify gaps or opportunities in program and project management processes and propose thoughtful, practical improvements
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks or small projects and drive them through completion with a results-driven, accountable mindset
  • Proactively follow up with stakeholders to help keep initiatives on track in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Required Skills & Experience
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and transparency
  • Self-motivated, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Interest in program or project management within a technical or technology-focused organization, especially in support of network engineering and infrastructure delivery
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across diverse teams
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a focus on delivering value to internal and external customers

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Exposure to program or project management fundamentals through coursework, internships, or academic projects
  • Basic understanding of technical environments such as network engineering, software, systems, networking, or data platforms
  • Experience with reporting or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar)
  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, SharePoint, or equivalent platforms
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports, or tracking metrics to support data-driven decisions
  • Technical background through coursework or projects (e.g., software development, data analysis, or systems engineering)
  • Exposure to network infrastructure, connectivity, or network operations projects through coursework, labs, internships, or academic projects
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to independently drive work to completion
