Job description

Location :: Washington DC
Client: World Bank
Pay Rate: $70. W2 MAX
World Bank has a immediate need for a Senior Program Manager. The manager would like to interview later this week and have an offer out on this early next week. The must have skills are 15+ years of IT experience and they must have led complex multi stream programs that are running parallel. This needs to be shown on resume or manager won't consider for interview. This is hybrid in DC 4 days a week on site no exceptions. The rate we can do for this role is $70/hr W2. The rest of the JD is below.
The team is looking for a highly experienced project manager who can work independently, plan the activities, coordinate and ensure timelines are being met. Must be skillful, tactful and detail oriented with an eye for identifying potential roadblocks and have the experience to mitigate and navigate those. Must be able to crack the whip where necessary to meet the project goals. Candidate must show proven experience with complex, enterprise projects with multiple, interlinked streams running in parallel in an Agile environment.
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
  • Must have at least 15 years of experience
  • At least 10+ years' experience managing complex projects requiring coordination across multiple business lines/organizations
  • PMP Certified
  • Experience with IT projects in the Financial Industry
  • Experience with IT projects utilizing multiple technologies and frameworks, particularly Agile/hybrid Agile

Project Management Specific Skills/Experience:
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the SDLC methodologies especially Agile, and SCRUM
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the development of project resource management
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the project and program management processes with institutional planning, investment, and project performance measurement options
  • Ability to quickly decide on alternate solutions to keep the project on time and budget.
  • Ability to foresee risks affecting the project and put in place mitigation strategies.
  • Must be a tough task master who can diplomatically convey goals, timelines and adherence to these.

Scope of Work:
  • Plan, develop and implement one or more medium to large-sized complex project/s.
  • Develop the project scope, define project guidelines.
  • Obtain business and information technology sponsor approvals.
  • Coordinate the resources necessary to successfully complete the project.
  • Communicate major milestones, identify potential project risks, provide continuing direction to the project team.
  • Conduct regular status meetings to review project activities.
  • Manage the prioritization procedures for changing requirements/scope (i.e. change management) and project quality assurance and acceptance procedures.
  • Obtain feedback to ensure that project efforts meet customer expectations for contracted time, cost and performance.
  • Participate in the blueprinting process by ensuring the discussion stays on track.
  • Ensure timely resolution of open items by following up with the BAs, Solution architects, business users and technical teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of items.
  • Prepare project plan with detailed WBS for the project as a whole and/or a sub-unit of work.
  • Conduct weekly status meeting, develop weekly and monthly status reports for portfolio management and application leadership.
  • Monitor project progress and collect schedule updates from various stakeholder.

Interface with Portfolio Management and Project Governance for project updates at various phases of the project lifecycle.
