Position Summary

Global C2 Integration Technologies is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Technical Writer who develops and maintains formal technical documentation supporting the development, integration, verification, deployment, training, and sustainment of Air Defense Command and Control (C2) mission systems. This role produces Government-quality documentation aligned with configuration-controlled system builds, validated test results, cybersecurity requirements, and training program baselines.

The Technical Writer collaborates with C2 SMEs, Test personnel, Systems Engineers, Course Developers, and Program Management to ensure documentation is accurate, structured, compliant, and customer ready. The position supports classified and proprietary documentation repositories and must ensure content integrity across all lifecycle phases.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain formal technical documentation, including system installation and configuration guides, operator and administrator manuals, test plans and reports, verification traceability matrices, training materials, and configuration management documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation meets Government standards for format, content, quality, and compliance.
  • Translate complex technical input from subject matter experts into clear, accurate, and structured documentation.
  • Document system configurations across Windows and Linux environments, including hardened systems, virtualization platforms, and distributed network architectures (routers, switches, firewalls, gateways).
  • Maintain documentation for system updates, including patching, upgrades, version control, and cybersecurity requirements (e.g., STIG alignment, RMF inputs).
  • Support formal test and integration activities by documenting test events (TRR, FQT, SAT), discrepancies, corrective actions, and validation results, ensuring alignment with system baselines.
  • Assist in developing training and instructional materials and ensure customer deliverables accurately reflect validated system capabilities and fielded configurations.
  • Maintain documentation within configuration-managed repositories, ensuring version control, consistency, and alignment with ISO 9001 quality standards while safeguarding sensitive and proprietary information.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing technical documentation in a Government, defense, or regulated environment.
  • Experience producing structured technical documents (e.g., manuals, test documentation).
  • Experience working within configuration-controlled environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Air Defense or C2 mission systems.
  • Experience supporting formal system test events (TRR, FQT, SAT).
  • Experience documenting distributed or virtualized architectures.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience with collaboration and documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, GitLab).
