Manager, Data Shared Services

Position Summary

The Manager, Data Shared Services (DSS) leads a team of Analytics Developers responsible for delivering enterprise data products, dashboards, semantic models, and analytics-ready datasets. This role provides both people and technical leadership, ensuring the delivery of trusted, scalable analytics solutions that support organizational decision-making.

In this role, you will partner with business leaders, data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable analytics products while advancing data governance, platform adoption, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Build and develop a high-performing analytics team through strategic hiring, mentoring, coaching, and succession planning aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage team priorities, resource allocation, and delivery commitments.
  • Establish and maintain development standards, quality practices, and documentation requirements.

Analytics & Technical Delivery

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of dashboards, semantic models, datasets, and other analytics products.
  • Provide technical leadership in data modeling, analytics engineering, and business intelligence development.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, scalability, security, and governance.
  • Partner with Data Engineering teams on data integration and platform initiatives.

Stakeholder & Program Management

  • Serve as a strategic partner to operational, clinical, and administrative leaders, aligning analytic priorities with organizational goals and translating business needs into actionable solutions.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement through adoption of modern analytics practices, AI-assisted development tools, and data governance standards.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Public Health, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical analytics teams.
  • Advanced SQL and dimensional data modeling skills.
  • Experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions, including DAX, Power Query, semantic models, security, and performance optimization.
  • Experience delivering analytics solutions in healthcare or other regulated environments.

Certification

  • Epic Cogito Certification required upon hire or within six (6) months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Public Health, Biomedical Informatics, Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • Experience with Epic Clarity and Caboodle.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards, including HL7 FHIR, ICD-10, CPT, and LOINC.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and data governance tools.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other analytical programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery, product management, and AI-assisted analytics development.
