Job description

Job Title: WIC Program Manager
Compensation (Based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated WIC Program Manager to join our team. Under the general supervision of the Director of Women's Health, the WIC Program Manager will coordinate and manage the WIC program at Chicago Family Health Center (CFHC) by providing supervision and oversite of training to all department staff to ensure competency of job specific duties. The Manager will implement all applicable policy and procedures as defined by the Illinois Department of Human services, Bureau of Family Nutrition for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program within the department.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate program services and manage daily program activities and workflows to ensure program compliance.
  • Oversee WIC departmental staff to ensure productivity meets the needs of the women and children serviced in the WIC program.
  • Manage the activities of the WIC Program through the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and protocols which regulate the delivery of nutritional services to client base; coordinate distribution of services between other inter-departmental programs or outside agencies, acting as liaison/consultant to minimize duplication of services.
  • Supervise program staff engaged in providing nutrition and dietary services by selecting and training staff, assigning work and reviewing staff progress, conducting performance evaluations and administering discipline.
  • Evaluate operational performance by reviewing provision of service and client satisfaction against staffing levels, work methods and procedures; develop and implement changes to protocols, workflow, documents, equipment and/or staffing to ensure effective operations and to comply with requisite policies and regulations.
  • Analyze the impact of changes in state and federal policies and regulations and develop program changes and training of staff to ensure continued program compliance.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in nutrition, health sciences or related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a nutritionist or WIC program.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Illinois as a Nutritionist or eligible for licensure.
  • The licensure must be obtained within one year of employment.

Education and Experience
