This exciting career opportunity is for a proven engineering professional to serve as a technical and relationship liaison between Mesa and TVA. The successful candidate will oversee a well established multidisciplinary group of engineers, designers and technicians. This individual reports to the Engineering Director and will be responsible for the relationship with TVA. The position requires a strong technical background in substation engineering along with a proven managerial track record.

Candidate will be responsible for P&L of client project work, communication, process creation, team management, and is ultimately responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all project work.

The role will be a hybrid allowable role based out of the Chattanooga, TN or Knoxville, TN office.

Requirements:

  • PMP certification is required; a PE license is preferred.
  • 4-year ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve difficult technical and management problems related to complex engineering projects.
  • Possess aptitude for engineering and design, as well as proposal preparation, estimating, accounting, and scheduling.
  • Strong organizational and process workflow management skills. Adept at modifying and adapting processes and workflows to accomplish team goals efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment – both internally and externally.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD, Vault, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. Must also possess knowledge of corporate accounting practices and business operations.
  • Willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa safety requirements.
  • Reactive to Director/VP work instructions and proactive/reactive to client requests.
  • 12+ years of experience working in the power industry is required.
  • 8+ years of experience managing projects and/or customer accounts is preferred.
  • 6+ years of TVA substation design experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer leadership to groups of Project Managers.
  • Accountable for maintaining solid customer financial targets, rapport, relationships and is ultimately responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all project work.
  • Integral participant in contract negotiations.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and coaching to Project Managers.
