Job description

ADP is hiring a Sr. Director, Security Program Management
ADP is hiring a Senior Director of Security Program Management to lead the Security Program Management Office (SPMO) within Global Enterprise Technology Solutions (GETS). This role serves as the global leader of the SPMO, accountable for day-to-day governance, execution discipline, reporting, and outcomes across all enterprise security initiatives, including those delivered through matrixed teams across ADP.
This leader owns the operating rhythm of the SPMO - ensuring transparency, accountability, financial alignment, and measurable risk reduction across a broad portfolio of complex, multi-year, global security programs. The role partners closely with executive stakeholders across Global Security Organizations (GSO), CTO, CIO, and other enterprise organizations and regularly prepares and presents materials for Steering Committees, Working Groups, Executive Committee (XCOM), and select Board updates.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise SPMO Leadership & Governance
  • Serve as the leader of the global SPMO within GETS, accountable for the governance, performance, and outcomes of all SPMO-managed initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain day-to-day governance and accountability for program reporting, metrics, milestones, financials, dependencies, and risk outcomes.
  • Ensure consistent application of program management disciplines across all initiatives, including those managed by matrixed teams throughout ADP.
  • Own the ongoing development and maturity of the SPMO governance framework, tools, standards, and operating model.

Program Execution & Risk Reduction
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, integration, and delivery of large-scale, complex security programs directly tied to implementing controls and reducing enterprise risk.
  • Ensure programs follow disciplined practices across:
  • Scope, Schedule, and Cost Management
  • Risk, Issue, and Quality Management
  • Resource, Communication, and Vendor Management
  • Drive follow-on actions resulting from vulnerability testing, ensuring remediation activities are tracked, governed, and completed as committed.
  • Monitor critical path milestones, escalate risks, resolve resource conflicts, and ensure timely decision-making.

Financial Planning & Alignment
  • Own financial planning, forecasting, and alignment across the SPMO portfolio.
  • Manage overall program budgets and coordinate requests for incremental funding as required.
  • Ensure initiatives are aligned with enterprise priorities, funding commitments, and risk-based outcomes.

Executive Communication & Reporting
  • Prepare and present executive-level materials for Steering Committees, Working Groups, XCOM, and selected Board updates.
  • Provide clear, concise, and accurate communication on program health, milestones, risks, dependencies, financials, and outcomes.
  • Act as the primary interface between SPMO, executive sponsors, Product Leaders, and Program Managers across GSO, CTO, and CIO.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Program Managers and SPMO professionals.
  • Set goals, priorities, and performance expectations; regularly review results against key milestones and outcomes.
  • Mentor and coach Program Managers, ensuring strong execution discipline and professional growth.
  • Establish staffing and resource plans, including engagement with third-party vendors where applicable.

Process, Tools & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure consistent use of SPMO methodologies, processes, and tools across all programs.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of SOPs, reporting standards, and integrated program plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement in how security programs are governed, measured, and delivered.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required (Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field preferred).
  • PMP or equivalent professional project/program management certification (minimum 3+ years).
  • 12+ years of proven program/project management experience.
  • Experience managing large, cross-functional teams (20+ associates) in highly matrixed environments.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching multiple Project or Program Managers.
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity, technology risk, or leading large, complex, cross-functional security programs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale security or technology programs across GSO, CTO, and CIO organizations.
  • Deep understanding of security, technology delivery, third-party implementations, and infrastructure programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-program portfolios with significant risk, budget, and executive visibility.
  • Strong ability to operate in a highly matrixed, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, presentation, and executive-level facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain highly complex, integrated program plans using Microsoft Project or comparable tools.
  • Strong track record of identifying, managing, and mitigating program risks to achieve intended outcomes.

You'll love working here because:
  • Be yourself in a culture that values equity, inclusion, and belonging and creates a safe space for diverse perspectives and insights.
  • Belong by joining one of nine Business Resource Groups to connect globally with networks and allies who share common interests and experiences.
  • Grow your career in an agile, fast-paced environment with plenty of opportunities to progress.
  • Continuously learn through ongoing training, development, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Be your healthiest. Best-in-class benefits start on Day 1 because healthy associates are happy ones.
  • Focus on your mental health and well-being. We're here to provide exceptional service to our clients, and none of that happens without each of us taking care of ourselves and being there for one another.
  • Join a company committed to giving back and generating a lasting, positive impact upon the communities in which we work and live.
  • Get paid to pay it forward. Company-paid time off for volunteering for causes you care about.
