Director of Accounting
SUMMARY:
The Accounting Director reports to the CFO and is responsible for managing the overall operation of the Accounting Department and ensuring that financial statements and records are accurate and compliant with local laws and regulations. The role requires someone detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement to increase the efficiency of the month end close process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team with focus on continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Coordinate the annual audit process
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management
  • Assess and improve internal controls
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure accuracy
  • Facilitate tax planning and compliance
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate with international accounting staff in Philippines, Mexico and UK to ensure consistent accounting methodology across the enterprise
  • Develops skills with the Company's ERP system
  • Lead the integration and purchase accounting for acquisitions completed by the business

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • High standard of personal ethics and integrity
  • Experience with complex ERP systems
  • Excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills
  • Strong soft skills including people management and communication skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for directing the work activities of others
  • Make decisions regarding hiring, terminating, promoting, approving time off requests, approving work and work product of others and setting departmental policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • Master's degree in related field a plus
  • 15+ years of experience in an accounting role with escalating responsibility
