Program Manager

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.

Manages and maintains various facets of assigned programs, including timelines, budgeting, technical performance, and risk mitigation. Interfaces with various business units and functions to manage program milestones. Participates in the administration of contracts at all stages of development. Serves as major point of contact to program customers.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Program Manager: Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Program Manager Responsibilities Include: 

  • Develops, oversees, and maintains various facets of assigned programs, including scheduling, pricing, and technical performance.

  • Assists in the administration of contracts at all stages of development, including negotiation, modification, proposal formulation, planning, setting of financial conditions, review, interpretation, and fiscal management.

  • Develops and maintains cost and schedule baselines for assigned programs.

  • Coordinates the work of various departments on individual programs to ensure that each project is completed timely, correctly, and fully.

  • Maintains regular contact with customers, keeping them informed of delivery and/or production schedules, potential contract deviations, and payment status.

  • Assures proactive risk mitigation measures are employed for assigned programs.

  • Maintains contact with internal functional managers, supplier representatives, and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.

  • Participates in briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.

  • Assists in coordination and development of proposals and business capture strategies as needed.

  • Delivers status presentations to customers and senior management as needed.

  • Aids in the formulation and development of practical solutions as related to assigned programs.

  • Ensures regular contact with customers, keeping them informed of delivery and/or production schedules, potential contract deviations, and payment status.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of the competitive position of the company, its competitors, and the current business climate.

  • Maintains detailed knowledge of US Government contracting regulations as applied to small and minority business contracting.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Program Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred or five (5) plus years of related experience.

  • Three (3) years of general computer systems experience. One (1) year must relate to principal duties and responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings and technical descriptions. 

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. 

  • Knowledge of accounting software, Database software, Human Resource system, word processing software, Internet software, Contract Management systems, Design software, and spreadsheet software. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; telephone skills; patience; problem solving skills; attention to detail; organization skills; accuracy; time management. 

  • Working knowledge of government contracting regulations.

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
